Indonesia, represented by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will again appear on the World’s Largest Parade Decorated Vehicle “Tournament of Roses (ToR)” in 2013 which took place in Pasadena, USA on 1-2 January 2013. The participation of Indonesia in 2013 this is the second time after 16 year.
This year Indonesia float themed “Wonderful Indonesia” by displaying Marionette Puppet design comprises; Arjuna, Krishna and Billy Satellite Float Glass and featuring a miniature tourist attraction in Central Java in the form of stupas and gamelan. Indonesia will float look more lively with the appearance of 12 dancers from the Solo Batik Carnival as an accompanist, with creative batik costume for the theme of creative tourism.
Participation of Indonesia in 2013 ToR is very important to promote Indonesian tourism in US. US is a potential market, in 2011 the number of tourist arrivals from the U.S. to Indonesia as many as 194,398 tourists, with an average length of stay 10.56 days and spending an average of U.S. $ 1,398 per person/visit.
Meanwhile, in 2012, a position from January to October 2012, the number of foreign tourists visiting the U.S. as much as 173,798 tourists, up 9.95% compared to the same period in 2011 as many as 158,077 tourists. While the year 2013, the target of 9 million foreign tourists visiting Indonesia, as many as 210 thousand of which will come from the United States.
