Bali Airport will be Closed for Commercial Flights on October 2013

Ahead of the APEC Summit in Bali, The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation via the Directorate General of Air Communications have sent a notice to all airlines, that due to the arrival of the many Heads of State and official delegations to the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Summit, who will fly in by Presidential planes, Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport will be closed for all commercial flights on specific dates and times.

The airport will be closed on Saturday, 5 October, from 10.00 hrs to 16.00 hrs. local, Central Indonesia Time; Sunday, 6 October from 10.00 hrs to 20.00 hrs; on Tuesday, 8 October also from 10.00 – 20.00 hrs and again on Wednesday, 9 October from 10.00 hrs – 16.00 hrs.

Passengers to and from Bali are strongly advised to check flight arrival and departure dates and time with their respective airlines.

Bali tourism will get many effects from this event due to Bali Island which has been famous a tourist destination in the world and again Bali will be watched by the people in all countries.

Although some of the access as well as the accommodations will be blocked by the delegations but Bali still has much rooms to accommodate tourist to come for holidays.

In some cases that the access will be blocked for high speed transportation services to support this event will be a little effect for tourists as well as local people. Meanwhile the tourist destinations, shopping center, restaurant, bars, beaches etc are opened normally.
