JAKARTA, presidentpost.com – PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) has been accelerating the construction of Jakarta light rail transit (LRT). The Jakarta LRT covers seven corridors, namely Kebayoran Lama-Kelapa Gading, Tanah Abang-Pulomas, Joglo-Tanah Abang, Puri Kembangan-Tanah Abang, Pesing-Kelapa Gading, Pesing-Soekarno Hatta Airport, and Cempaka Putih-Ancol.
“By the end of this year, the physical development will have reached 90 percent,” said Jakpro Operational Director Wahyu A. Harun after delivering a speech at the Jakarta Infrastructure Seminar in the Arifin Punirogo Auditorium, Al-Azhar University, on Tuesday (9/26).
This infrastructure project will be fully operational in 2019. However, during the implementation of ASEAN Games 2018, some corridors of the LRT will be operated.
“The deadline is the date of ASEAN Games, to be partly operational. Normally the commissioning takes 3-6 months. We have been working extra, 1 year for planning, 2 years for development, and 3 years for building network. Some LRT experts said its impossible job, but we still try to do it for the sake of the people,” he said.
Regarding the LRT station in Dukuh Atas, planned to be the integrated transportation center, Wahyu said that he has negotiated with several related parties such as PT Adhi Karya Tbk as the Jabodebek LRT contractor and the airport train.
“There will be 4 railways, 2 from us, the other 2 from Adhi Karya, and each has its own track and operator,” he said.
The Jabodebek LRT routes include Cawang-Cibubur, Cawang-Kuningan-Dukuh Atas, Cawang-Bekasi Timur, Dukuh Atas-Senayan, Cibubur-Bogor and Palmerah-Bogor.
Two LRTs intersect at Dukuh Atas, where the LRT Jakarta route passes through Manggarai and Dukuh Atas to Tanah Abang
Wahyu also emphasized that the elimination of sectoral ego is a must to integrate the transportation modes, as stated also by elected Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta Sandiaga Uno in the discussion forum.
In addition to working on the LRT project, Jakpro is also responsible for two other development projects, namely Jakarta International Equestrian Park Pulo Mas and Jakarta International Velodrome. (KTN/TPP)
