DEPOK, presidentpost. com – Selly Marcelina, Suherlin, and Wiwin Widianingsih are batch 2015 students from Law study programme of President University who won the second winner in Battle of Brains of Business Law Competition (BCL 2017). The event was held at the Law Building of Universitas Indonesia, from 21st- 25th September 2017, with a theme “The Growth of Aviation Industry in the Eyes of Business Law” this event aimed to gain more knowledge in business law, especially in Aviation Law.
Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Diponegoro University (UNDIP), State Islamic University (UIN), Trisakti University, Bina Nusantara University (BINUS), Pelita Harapan University (UPH), Sebelas Maret University (UNS), and Tarumanagara University (UNTAR) also sent their representatives to this event.
Defeating UPH 95-0, PresUniv team went through to the Semi Final. Selly shared that their hard work in learning the regulations about Aviation for 21 days have led them to this successful achievement. The regulations that they have learned are the Act Number 1 of 2009, Government Regulations, Ministry Regulations, and International Convention about Aviation.
“We do hope that participating in this event could be useful for us in the future and we hope that we could encourage our junior in President University to also participating in any kind of Law competitions”, said Selly.
This event was also give the participants chances to train their abilities in constructing the right and efficient contract, develop the ability of participants in analyzing cases about Aviation Law, give participants chances to train their soft skills in presenting and defending their opinions in public, and to give participants chances to train their punctuality and accuracy in answering questions.
Dra. Fennieka Kristianto, S.H., M.A., M.H., M.Kn. (Head of Law study programme of President University) expresses her great sense of pride to President University’s students for their achievement in this competition is helping the students to gain experiences, “lets the university gains networking opportunities, and at the same time, let PresUniv’s Law Study Programme stands tall amongst the university level,” said Fennieka, who is also a law and notary practitioner.
