JAKARTA, presidentpost.com – PT Cipta Krida Bahari (CKB Logistics), an integrated logistics service provider, has inaugurated a new warehouse in the Central Business Park Osowilangon with a capacity five times larger.
President Director of CKB Logistics Iman Sjafei said the CKB Logistics moved its logistics hub to a new location in Osowilangon, Surabaya, East Java.
This new warehouse serves as a logistics hub of CKB Logistics in Surabaya, and has been operating since May 29, 2017 and is built on an area of 300,000 m2 with a capacity five times larger than its previous location on Jalan Raya Margomulyo No. 41, Surabaya, East Java.
The warehouse is equipped with facilities of a 6,000 m2 closed warehouse, a 20,000 m2 open warehouse, and a 500 m2 office spaces.
The capacity expansion is the company’s priority mission. This is in line with the increasing customer demand coupled with the company’s strategy in anticipating industrial growth in Eastern Indonesia.
“With the larger and more strategic location in Surabaya, supported by an integrated logistics service as well, the logistics hub will generate cost efficiency and improve the distribution process to the customers. Our focus is to serve the customers better,” Iman said in a press release on Thursday (9/7).
The new logistics hub is supported by integrated logistics service, information and communication technology system, as well as an effective surveillance system. The hub also provides an 8,500 m2 facility of closed and open warehouses.
The facility is expected to complement the added value of logistics services to the customers to improve the cost efficiency and distribution acceleration.
That will strengthen the CKB Logistics’s position as an integrated logistics company in Indonesia especially in Surabaya. The CKB Logistics also has several other warehouses located in Jakarta, Karawang, Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Samarinda, and Sorong.
Currently, the government is focusing on the development of infrastructure and industrial estates in Eastern Indonesia.
By investing in Surabaya, the CKB Logistics wants to help make the city as a hub for the trade and logistics distribution in East Indonesia.
The central government has also established the Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya, as one of the main ports in the sea toll lanes program for accelerating the flow of goods from western to the eastern Indonesia and vice versa.
According to Iman, the CKB Logistics offers integrated transportation and logistics solutions with a focus on oil and gas, mining, construction, telecommunications, retail and e-commerce industries. Through its service concept, the CKB Logistics expects the customers to get optimum level of efficiency.
“Logistics is one of the high-cost business chains. With the strategy developed by the company, we expect to cut the logistics costs for the business players to make their competitiveness increases,” said Iman.
Since obtaining the license as a PLB management in 2016, the CKB Logistics has managed 74,000 m2 of PLBs in four locations. The CKB Logistics targets to build and operate PLBs up to 300,000 m2 in various areas by 2020. (BNS/TPP)
